Spinal Fusion

Any surgical procedure that seeks to correct, join, fuse or stabilize a damaged, degenerating, or deformed spinal column or herniated disc. This is done in order to allow for biological bone growth in the affected area. It generally involves the emplacement of bone grafts (Titanium or Stainless Steel) in order to provide scaffolding for new bone growth. A number of surgical options are available to patients’ specific to their situations and desires, whether the procedure is more or less invasive, amount of tissue affected, etc.
